<p>The hand-held adze is esp. for do-it-yourself use for wood cutting. A hammer(1) has a blind hole(5) drilled at one end of the head(3). One or more interchangeable cutting blades(7), each fitted with an identical retaining shaft(6), are insertable in this hole. The axis(A) of the blind hole is pref. at an angle of 85 deg. to that(B) of the hammer bar(2). The rear face of the hammerhead may have a convex curve, while the hole is offset from the centre towards the rear face. The head may have a sloping face(4) at the end away from the hole.</p> |
