Mounted in an opening (2a) in the body of a sledge (2) are two angle bearing members (13) for the axle of a speedometer. The scale (9) consists of a tubular plastic component having side plates (10) on the tube ends. The axle (8) passes through the side plates to provide a pivoting mount. Weights (11) stuck on to the side plates hold the scale vertical despite alterations in the angle of inclination of the sledge. The scale member (9) has on its underside a slot (9a) through which two levers (7) projects. The lower ends of the levers carry an air cup (6) and the upper ends carry a pointer (5). Attached to the base of the sledge is an air scoop (12).
