<p>The disc brake has a fixed support (10) which carries the movable brake assembly (12) connected by means of two bolts (48) holding the bush (42) and the two arms (46) of the brake assembly. The movable brake assembly has a stirrup (16) which spans the rotating friction disc. The gap (20) is bordered by the guide bush (22) which carries the friction discs. The brake is applied by allowing hydraulic fluid through the inlet port (A) into the housing (36) and onto the back of a piston, and the piston is sealed by 'O' rings. The resultant braaking force is divided into two smaller forces at the front (14).</p> |
