PURPOSE:To obtain a new quinoline derivative useful as an anti-inflammatory agent having low toxicity and excellent effect, especially as a treating agent for arthritis. CONSTITUTION:This new compound is expressed by formula I [G' is an acyl, a >=2C hydroxyalkyl which may be protected or a halogen; X is O or S which may be oxidized or (CH2)q [(q) is 0-5]; R is amino which may be substituted or a heterocyclic group which may be substituted; the ring A and the ring B may have a substituent group, respectively; (k) is 0 or 1] or its salt, e.g. 3-acetyl-2 (N,N-diethylaminomethyl)-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-6,7-climethoxy- quinoline. The compound of formula IV belonging to the compound is obtained by reaction of a compound of formula II (Q is an eliminable group; G1 is a halogen or an acyl) with a compound of formula III. The compound of formula I where G' represents a amidated carboxyl group is also useful as an anti- inflammatory agent. |
