Heat recovery system involves a series of pipies mounted in a panel on the roof to give efficient absorption of solar radiation. The heat so picked up is then exchanged with a domestic water supply. An additional amt. of heat is then provided by abstracting heat from the ambient air using a heat pump, this heat also being transferred to the hot water storage tank. The sec. heat pump circuit uses a transfer medium which can be heated by the solar energy and the ambient air. A refrigerant is used for the heat pump circuit and a brine or similar for the prim. circuit. The ambient air is blown over the surface of heat transfer tubing. Used on domestic hot water systems and allows environmental heat to be used for water heating.
