<p>In the mfr. of a simulated suede material, a woven or knitted fabric is used composed of yarns with at least a partial natural silk content. the fabric surface is roughened mechanically, and the roughened surface is impregnated with an elastomeric plastic. The process gives a cheaply and efficiently mfd. artificial suede. In an embodiment, the whole material is clad with an elastomeric plastic, or impregnated with a polyurethane resin suspended in water or in an organic soln. The fabric, with its roughened upper surface, is clad with an elastomeric plastic with upright fibres ranging at least partially through the cladding. The fabric has natural silk wefts from silk waste.</p> |
