The tomograph appts. uses a radiation source producing a beam whose cross-sectional spread, perpendicular to the layer plane, corresponds to the strength of this layer. The radiation receiver, behind the patient, records the intensity of the projected beam. A drive for the measuring section alternately rotates and pushes sideways the radiation measuring appts. in the layer plane for scanning of the subject in various directions. The signals from the radiators receiver are converted to provide the tomograph. The intensity of the source is made dependent upon the speed of operation of the radiation measuring appts. The control is such that a roughly constant quantum flow per unit of displacement is achieved during the sideways movement.
