The wall plug has a tubular body with a flange at one end to limit insertion into a hole in the wall. The plug has a number of lugs stamped from the tubular wall of the body. Each lug has a free end directed toward the bottom end of the plug and being bent radially inward. When a shaft, e.g. at the end of a hook to be fastened to a wall, is driven into the plug, the radially inwardly bent ends of the lugs are urged radially outward to secure the plug in the hole.
