Safety restrainer for child's car seat - has rigid table held over legs by safety straps

The child's car safety seat has a rigid shell with a seat(6) with side flanges (14) on which is set a bridge structure(2) held in place by safety belts (3). The bridge fits over the child's lap and prevents if from sliding out of the seat in a collision. The hollow under the bridge is contoured to fit over the legs of the child while the seat itself is dished slightly for a comfortable ride. For larger children the bridge is removed and the seat shell used with safety belts.
