The wooden frame for shelving, using diagonal braces, has a U section reinforcing member near the corner of the shelf with its flanges (8) parallel to the shelf, fastened in slots (9) in the shelf. The facing surfaces of the stands (1) have holes (18) into which fit projections (14, 15) on the U-section (7). The distance between the facing surfaces (20) of the uprights is greater than the distance between the edges (12) of the recesses at right angles to the projections at the corners of the shelves. There, a safety member (19, 20) is fitted in at least one recess. Because the two flanges are fastened in slits in the face of the shelf a sufficiently thick shelf can rest on the supporting flange of the U-section so that the shelf can be stressed in both directions. The shelves are directly supported on the stands and the upper faces of the adjoining shelves lie in one plane.
|
