A thermodynamically stable polymorph of benoxaprofen, an antiinflammatory agent of the structural formula: <CHEM> This stable polymorphic form, which can be prepared from the mastastable form by thermal treatment or crystallisation from a solution, is used in pharmaceutical formulations.
