FLUTED SUB-TROCHANTERIC NAIL SYSTEM: of the Disclosure A sub-trochanteric intramedullary rod for use in fracture fixation in the femur characterized in that it is fluted throughout its length and has a minor portion of a diameter greater than its major portion, thereby being of stepped configuration.
