Oxygen transfer indicators comprise an organic amine and a phenol deriv. The latter must be a cpd. which can be obtd. in practically anhydrous form by evapn. or crystn., and which can be stored int he presence of other ingredients (e.g., buffer salts, enzymes and adjuvants) without denaturing these ingredients or impairing their activity or storage stability. The indicators can be used in analyses involving peroxidase, e.g., for determn. of glucose, galactose, cholesterol or uric acid. Pref. phenol derivs. are K o-guaiacolsulphonate (thiocol) and sulphonated dichlorophenol. |
