PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively produce a display device by using a first∼third light emitting element arrays respectively emitting red light beams, green light beams and blue light beams and deflecting picture light beams of respective colors in the vertical direction to a screen with a polygon mirror. SOLUTION: Picture light beams of red, green, blue emitted from a first∼third light emitting element arrays 2∼4 reach the mirror part 10a of a polygon mirror 10 while including picture information equivalent to one horizontal period of color picture information and the respective color picture light beams are subjected to a color composition on the mirror part 10a being in rotation and the picture light beams subjected to the color composition are reflected on the mirror part 10a to be projected on a screen 11. Moreover, the picture light beams of three colors emitted from the arrays 2∼4 are successively emitted as every horizontal columns toward the vertical direction of the color picture information. Consequently, the every picture light beams subjected to the color composition on the mirror part 10a are successively deflected and projected in the vertical direction of the screen 11 while being reflected on the mirror part 10a to be displayed on the screen 11 by rotating the mirror part 10a around the axis 10b of the mirror 10 while synchronizing in with the light emitting timing to the vertical direction.
