A device for network distribution equipment contains a door or a lid which gives access to connection equipment and a transformer in a network station. The door or the lid is equipped with a lock device which activates a switch, such as the switch S1, when the equipment is to be serviced. On the secondary side of the transformer there is a detection unit F2, F3, F4 arranged in each phase for detecting and emitting an activating signal for disconnecting the network Q1 when the current exceeds a certain value. The detection unit can be excess current relays of the electronic or electromagnetic type. The detection unit or units are connected to the door switches S1 in order to emit the activating signal for disconnecting the network when the door switches S1 are activated.
