The invention refers to a magnetic field sensor which consists of a magneto-restrictive delay line (1) made up of a FeSiB amorphous magneto-restrictive wire, around which there is a field coil (2) at one end and a receiver coil (3) at the other, and a permanent magnet (4) that ensures a constant value of the magnetic field for polarisation in the excitation place. A polarisation coil (5), fed from a variable source (6) which helps to calibrate the sensor, is positioned around the receiver coil (3), the field coil (2) being supplied from a pulse generator (12). This creates impulses in the receiver coil (3), whose amplitude is measured and displayed by a measuring unit (13, 14, 15, 16) and depends on the magnetic field to be measured according to a calibration curve determined experimentally.
