<p>Powder providing protective cover for the top surface of molten steel cast 'in situ' in an ingot mould is supported on device above the level of the steel. The device enables the powder, prior to casting, to be maintained at the optimum desired height relative to the level of te molten steel. The support comprises a plate. Powder contained in a bag can be suspended relatively effectively at the required height.</p> |
