PURPOSE:To increase the recording capacity over the entire part by forming the optical disk substrate so as to have the clock signal frequency pits corresponding to a radius position. CONSTITUTION:The optical disk substrate 1 has the clock signal pits for signal control having the relation expressed by the equation F(r)=F0X(r/r0). In the equation, F(r) is the recording signal clock frequency in th position of the radius r on the optical disk substrate 1; F0 is the reference clock signal frequency in the innermost peripheral position; r0 is the innermost peripheral radial position where reference clock signals are recorded. The clock signal pits 2 to be recorded are, therefore, mode constant in the recording density of the pits 5 in both the inner peripheral part 3 and the outer peripheral 4. The recording capacity over the entire part is increased in this way. |
