<p>A shank is provided which is adapted to be held in the tool holder of a lathe. A cylindrical pin extends at right angles from one end of the shank and a cylindrical swedging tool is supported for rotation upon said pin. The outer end of said swedging tool is inwardly chamfered. The end of the tube to be swedged is held in a lathe and is heated whereupon the swedging tool, supported by the tool holder, is engaged against the and so that the rotation of the tube also rotates the swedging tool. Alternatively, the tool may be engaged within the end of a heated tube to expand same.</p> |
