PURPOSE:To obtain a high C/N by providing a substrate and a recording film thereon comprising a Cu-Te alloy, carbon and fluorine for recording information therein by irradiation with a laser light. CONSTITUTION:An information recording medium 18 comprises a substrate 13 and a recording film 14 provided thereon. The recording film 14 comprises a Cu-Te alloy, carbon and fluorine, with the Cu content being 2-40atom%. With this alloy composition, the alloy has a melting point lower than the melting point of Te alone, so that it is possible to make aperture diameters of pits smaller and uniform. Therefore, a high C/N can be obtained. |
