<p>1491376 Cutting threads ZELLWEGER USTER Ltd 7 Feb 1975 [20 Feb 1974] 5291/75 Heading B4B An arrangement for severing a filament, e.g. a yarn, comprises a slide 4 on which is provided a guide 7 arranged such that the filament travels first between a cutting blade 22 and an associated anvil and, then between a clamping member 23 and its associated abutment 21. The slide 4 is provided with a shaft 5 guided in a housing 1 and a latch 17 for engagement with a projection 15 on an armature 11 of a solenoid 10. The anvil and abutment are formed by a U-shaped plate 21 which is reversible in the housing in order to allow for wear. In operation, the slide is moved manually via a push-button 8 against the action of a spring 9 so as to permit the engagement of the latch with the projection as shown in Fig. 1. Upon energization of the solenoid 10, the slide is released and so causes the member 23 to first clamp the filament against the abutment plate and then the blade 22 to sever the filament; the member 23 is loaded by a spring 24.</p> |
