<p>A probe with an inflatable elastic sleeve is used to engage, lift and carry articles having an open top. Esp. for transferring bottles etc. from a blow moulding machine to subsequent treatment positions, e.g. deburring. It supports the bottles with a self-centering action which is more reliable than e.g. mechanisms involving divergent fingers. It is relatively insensitive to the presence of burrs or other surface imperfections, and does not mar or scratch the surface of the moulding.</p> |
