<p>The upper sealing bridge unit is for windows or doors with wings on at least two planes, seated on running rails and guided by rails, one wing at least being horizontally movable. Centre joint sealing is effected by a bridge between the guide rail flanges, comprising retainer piece and sealing brush. The retainer piece (9) is in two parts, inner (11) and U-shaped outer (10), with the latter fitting against the flanges (5, 6) and sealed at the end. The enclosed inner part is cemented to the outer part in a central adhesion area (K), pref. extending over a tenth of the inner or outer piece length and approx. 10 mm overall. The outer piece may be made of soft elastomer material. This effectively prevents water penetration, even under heavy loading.</p> |
