1537293 Sealing H F ARENDT 16 June 1976 [30 Aug 1975] 24844/76 Heading F2B [Also in Division D1] A device for adding or removing fluid media to or from a rotating drum 1 comprises a pair of spaced-apart flanges 3, each having one of a pair of elastic sealing members 5 fixed to it, the ends of the elastic members forming lips 7 extending radially inwardly and in engagement. A clamping ring 6 may hold an elastic member on its flange 3. To supply fluid to the drum a spreader device 10, tapered circumferentially, moves the lips apart, fluid being supplied through a pipe 9. A pair of lenticular rollers may spread the lips to define an exit for fluid between them (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown). The drum may be in a washing machine. |
