PURPOSE: To reduce deflection of a diaphragm by arranging a sealing means on an outer edge of an outer ring of a diaphragm between the diaphragm and a stator for receiving it, and providing a land abutting the ring of the stator on a downstream face of the outer ring. CONSTITUTION: A moveable wheel 2 constituting a part of a turbine rotor 9 is surrounded by a sealing device 13 secured on an upstream face 14 of a diaphragm 1. In this case, the diaphragm 1 is constituted by an outer ring 3 and an inner ring 6 divided into two radially. A sealing device 17 abutting an inner wall of a stator 4 is arranged in a groove 16 formed on an outer edge 15 of the outer ring 3. A circular land 18 is arranged on the upstream face 14 of the outer ring 3, abutting a ring 19 of the stator 4. The land 18 is disposed near the sealing device 13. A space 25 defined between the land 18 and the sealing device 17 is communicated with the pressure P2 downstream of the wheel 2 via a slot 22 formed on the land 18. |
