Porcelain-coated metal crown as dental prosthesis

The metal crown (1) has layers comprising a binder (2) and a ceramic material (3) and, if appropriate, a mixture of a binder and a ceramic material and/or a mixture of a ceramic material and a porcelain. The layers are thermally vapour-deposited around the metal crown (1). A layer of molten porcelain (4) is formed on the layers thus applied. The porcelain-coated metal crown is suitable as a substitute for a damaged natural dental crown.
