The stranding machine is constructed so as to produce two pairs simultaneously in a small space. For this purpose, the two arches (16, 17) of the cable regulating device (10) are constructed so as each to guide one pair (6, 6) and the cradle (9) is capable of carrying two receiving reels (7, 8). On either side of the means for suspending the cable regulating device, two unwinding installations are provided which each supply one pair of leaders. Each pair (6, 6) penetrates in the axis of the cable regulating device (10) at one of its ends, then one of the arches (16,17) and is then directed towards one of the receiving reels (7, 8) mounted on the cradle (9). <IMAGE>
