A support arrangement for the flanged wheel (2) of a rail vehicle includes a horizontal beam (1) with an enlarged end at the centre line of the wheel in the form of a pair of jaws with vertical inside faces (13) above the axle (3). An adaptor block (12) which fits between these faces is attached to the axle. The adaptor has a sunken recess (11) in the centre of its top face, engaged by a lug (8) between the jaws. In cross section, the top surface of the adaptor is convexly curved, with a radius of curvature less than that of the concave curved face of the interior of the adaptor. |
