PURPOSE:To improve ion conductivity and workability while expanding a usable temperature range by a method wherein in a solid electrolyte consisting of sodium oxide, yttrium oxide and silicon dioxide, a prescribed quantity of phosphate is further made to contain. CONSTITUTION:1.6 to 9.0 molar % of phosphate (provided that cation in phosphate is sodium, ammonium and hydrogen) is contained as a radical phosphate PO4 quantity. Solid electrolyte having its molar % of the respective components sodium oxide 30 to 50: yttrium oxide 1 to 9: silicon dioxide 50 to 70 is used. These raw materials are minutely powdered after temporary baking while being regularly baked after being molded. Solid electrolyte is formed into that mainly becoming vitreous, being minute and rich in workability, having no weakness in chemical durability caused in a crystal grain field, further having high Na ion conductivity and especially having a wide usable temperature range in a low temperature region. |
