PURPOSE: To simultaneously access n elements arranged in the direction of each axis by rotating a data element to a memory at the time of read/write. CONSTITUTION: A cubic array 10 of data is stored in individual memories, and each of individual memories M consists of n×n arrays of memory elements. At the time of memory write, data elements are so rotated that adjacent data elements are not stored in the same memory. The rotation is a function of coordinates of the address and the access mode, and for example, the rotation is equal to (Y+Z) modulo n in the X access. Consequently, all values of Z exist in individual memories respectively. Thus, all of elements arranged adjacently in the direction of each axis are simultaneously accessed.
