Tipping seat for two door car - has tipping safety catch interlocked with seat sliding catch to provide more access to rear when seat is tipped

The sliding mounting for the front tipping seat of the vehicle has a movable stop which interacts with a sprung safety catch to secure the seat position. The seat back hinge is fitted with a second safety catch to prevent tipping, until released by the manual control. The release of the tipping catch also releases the sliding catch so that the folded seat is pushed forwards for improved access to the rear seats. When the seat is tipped up again, the sliding position is restored by sliding the seat back to automatically lock behind the stop.
