Centralised vacuum cleaning connection for concrete floor - has pipe neck separated from removable flap cover to prevent heat transfer

The connection is fitted to a centralised vacuum cleaning installation located in the concrete floor (1) of a building. It comprises a neck (2) screwed onto the end of the vacuum pipe (3, 4), its upper part widening out. A mould is inserted into the neck and the concrete poured. After setting, the mould is removed and a retaining ring (6) sealed into the floor surface. This has a ring (7) with a flap (11) fitted to its by screws (9, 10), this part being removable. Both parts are separated (5) by the concrete and direct heat transfer is prevented.
