Cutter device for fibres with movable blade - which descends linearly on fixed blade and returns in curved path away from cut fibres

A device for cutting textile fibres includes a moveable cutter blade which descends onto a fixed cutter blade over which the fibres are advanced. The movable cutter blade is mounted on e.g. a chassis at one corner of an imaginary triangle. The chassis is connected a second corner of the triangle to a freely pivotal level and at the third corner to a rotating eccentric drive mechanism. After cutting the moveable blade is moved out of the path of the cut fibres. The moveable blade does not become clogged with cut fibres; thus reducing maintenance and wear on the blades.
