<p>The parent patent described a hand-held welding pistol for spot welding two metal sheets together via electrodes mounted on pivots. The novelty in the addn. is the use of two coaxial pivot shafts on each of which is an electrode holder, the two holders being mounted side by side. The back end of each holder has a blind hole in which the bare end of an electricity supply cable is clamped; cables are also clamped in the rear end of the pistol. At the front end of each holder is a screw clamp holding a welding electrode movable to a desired position; and a spring-loaded peg fits in a transverse hole in the bare end of each cable to limit the pivot angle of each holder. Clamps are held by a nut in another blind hole in holders; and the clamps can be replaced by a variety of profiled extension pieces/holding the electrodes in different positions.</p> |
