The socket outlet has a case with a cover and at least two contact plates, each with at least one contact spring. A clamping spring is provided under each contact plate and serves as a screwless terminal. it is made of spring material and is inserted under tension into the contact plate. It has V-shaped clamping arms with a catch action. The case has insertion holes for conductors, and a hole in the cover for insertion of an implement releasing the clamping effect. A flat contact plate (4) has holes into which a U-shaped clamping spring (8) can be inserted and fixed to the contact plate (4). An operating element for the clamping spring (8) is guided and held in the contact plate (4). The clamping spring (8) and one contact socket (4a) are positioned approx. above each other and inserted into a case recess.
