摘要 <p>The efficiency of solar cells is improved by coating the substrate of heterogeneous semiconductor cells on both sides and/or by bilateral diffusion of boundary layers in the base cell of homogeneous semiconductors. This doubles the current generation per unit surface area and reduces the overall cost of solar heating installations. Pref. the new solar cell consists of a substrate (a), made of molybdenum or aluminium sheet, which carries on both surfaces a metallic contact layer (b). An n-type CdS layer (c) 40 mu thick is followed by a p-type CuxS layer 0.2 mu thick, (d) and finally a copper contact grid (e). The whole is coated by a protective foil (f).</p>
