<p>Textiles contg. or consisting of wool are impregnated and/or contacted with a cellulase-contg. enzyme soln. after carbonisation and subsequent neutralisation. This enzymatic after-treatment, carried out by padding or wetting the textiles in open width, as skeins or as loose wools, removes the partly degraded cellulosic constituent residues of the related wools. The cellulose components can be converted to water-soluble prods. which are washed out with little environmental pollution. Wool fibre damage is prevented.</p> |
