A radial output hydraulic machine, with one high-pressure stage and one low-pressure stage mounted hydraulically in series and for each stage a wheel associated with an external rear chamber, an internal rear chamber, and a lateral chamber. The external rear chamber (8b) of the high-pressure stage is connected by the pipe (12) and a control valve (13) to the lateral chamber (10a) of the low-pressure stage. The external rear chamber (8b) of the high-pressure stage is connected by the pipes (12) and (14) to the lateral chamber (10b) of the high-pressure stage. The axial hydraulic thrust of the stages is a constraint for the bearings, which may be compensated for in a controlled fashion by means of the valve (13). <IMAGE>
