1531705 Gas turbine plant with separate power turbine UNITED TECHNOLOGIES CORP 15 June 1977 [17 June 1976] 25075/77 Headings F1G and FIT A gas turbine power plant comprises a gas generator section and a separate power turbine, gases passing from the gas generator through an annular duct 30. The power turbine comprises a motor assembly 14 carrying rotor blades 110, an inlet guide vane assembly 32 and inter-stage guide vanes 124. The rotor assembly 14 comprises a stub shaft 42 at its upstream end, the shaft being supported in a bearing assembly 60 carried by a cylindrical member 34 which in turn is carried by a frusto-conical diaphragm member 92. The guide vane assembly 32 is secured to the diaphragm by means of flanges 90 of the vane inner platforms 82 being secured to the flange 94 of the diaphragm by means of bolts 102. The outer platforms 80 of the guide vanes 32 are secured by bolts 85 to a cylindrical vane support member 70, a flange 72 of the support member being secured between sections 8A, 8B of the turbine casing 8 by means of bolts 78. The shaft bearing is cooled and lubricated by jets of oil discharged from manifold 58, the oil returning through drain conduit 66. |
