PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor with high performance and reliability wherein lubricating oil is supplied to the contact portion between the vane and the outer peripheral surface of the eccentric roller without leading to increased processing cost while solving the problem of insufficient lubricating oil due to over supply of lubricating oil. SOLUTION: Lubricating oil is supplied between a crank shaft 9 and a main bearing 5 as a rotary compressor is operated. A part of the lubricating oil present between the crank shaft 9 and the main bearing 5 passes through a communication passage 51 to be supplied inside a cylinder 4 through a supply port 50, which opens and closes by entrance and withdrawal of a vane 12 to and from a vane accommodation chamber, and along the vane 12. Consequently, lubricating oil is supplied to the contact portion between the vane 12 and an eccentric roller 11, reducing the frictional resistance at the contact portion, which then restricts abrasion of the vane and the roller. Further, since the lubricating oil is supplied intermittently, the problem of insufficient lubricating oil due to over supply of the lubricating oil is resolved.
