A method of making a liquid-film display cell formed by a first insulating plate coated with an electrode, a second transparent insulating plate coated with a semi-transparent electrode and a wall situated between and at the periphery of said plates and being made of a first material which is chemically inert to said film and which is fusible at a first temperature characterized in that : a) at least one filling tube made of a second material having a fusion temperature above said first temperature is placed on and across said wall, b) the tube is sealed in said wall and the first and second plates are sealed on the wall by heating the elements of the cell to a temperature at least equal to said first temperature and below the fusion temperature of the second material, c) the elements of the cell are left to cool, and d) finally, the cell is filled through said tube.
