1536382 Remote control for receivers INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 24 May 1977 [31 May 1976 (2)] 21817/77 Heading H3Q In electronic equipment including a cabinet 1 housing signal processing circuitry, the operating functions of the circuitry are controlled by a transmitter 3 in a separate housing 2 which is operable without a wired control connection to a receiver 4 on the cabinet, the transmitter 3 can be detachably mounted to the cabinet such that manual control switches 9 of the transmitter remain exposed from the cabinet and control of the operating functions of the circuitry can take place with the housing 2 so mounted and with the housing removed and remote from the cabinet. When the transmitter 3 is mounted in the cabinet of a TV set ultrasonic, optical or infra-red signals from 17 are fed via a waveguide 15 to a receivermicrophone 4. Where ultrasonic signals are used the vibration of a panel of the cabinet may be employed. The plug-in device 7, 8, which supplies power to the transmitter 3 instead of its own battery used for remote operation, can simultaneously effect the direct transmission of the transmitter signals. When the transmitter is remotely located its signals are received at microphone 4 via arrow A.
|
