PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting anomalies in acceleration sensors capable of operating a DIAG function normally even in the case that a GND short-circuit or a power source short circuit occurs in the output line of the DIAG function. SOLUTION: A voltage corresponding to acceleration to be impressed on a sensor element 11 is amplified at a first amplifying circuit 12, and then only its effective components are passed through a BPF 13, are amplified at a second amplifying circuit 14, and are outputted as an acceleration output signal. The potential and threshold value of the preceding stage of the BPF 13 is compared at a comparing circuit 15, and the result of the comparison is inputted to an OR circuit 16 at H/L. The OR circuit 16 outputs a DIAG output signal on the basis of an SC signal and the result of the comparison. When a GND short circuit occurs in the output terminal of the OR circuit 16 in the case that the DIAG output signal is set at a H level, the DIAG output signal becomes of an L level which should be normally of an H level. Therefore, it is possible to determine a GND short circuit.
