The cardboard box has a flat rigid base (C). An extension of the base is folded over around the edge to form a lip which has a vertical edge (10) a horizontal land (14) and a second vertical edge (16). The top of the edge of the box (18) is folded over into the box (20). The walls of the box have a double thickness, obtained by the cardboard being folded over itself. The corners are formed by shortening the top of the edge on the long side of the box which has a slit in it to take a tap on the corner.
