The potting compound is contained in a hopper (1). A mixer (6) having blades mixes the compound to ensure homogeneity and prevent compaction in the hopper. A reduction motor (2) drives the mixer and also a conveyor belt. Compound discharges through a regulatable opening in the bottom of the hopper to the conveyor belt whence it discharges into a chute (3) to fill a pot on a table (4) below or a flexible bag held by fingers (5). The width of the chute can be regulated for different widths of pot. The table (4) has a grid through which surplus compound can fall to a collector.
