PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature of a motor which exhibits excellent winding workability of an exciting coil, the high space factor of the exciting coil in a slot, the reduced number of components, the reduced assembly man-hours and little flux leakage. SOLUTION: Respective circumferential widths of teeth 12a of a core 12 are approximately uniform across the base parts 12a and tip parts of the teeth 12a. After an exciting coil 13 is wound on the core 12, an annular member 14 made of magnetic material is put tightly onto the outer circumference of the core 12. The annular member 14 has a large number of nonmagnetic improved quality parts 14a existing axially over its whole length, arranged circumferentially at positions corresponding to the centers of slots 15 and having circumferential widths smaller than the opening widths of the slots 15.
