PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquisition system which always monitors with high efficiency for information acquisition in the event of an alarm and reduces the load on a monitor used in an alarm monitoring control of a plurality of apparatus under monitoring according to the alarming condition. SOLUTION: An apparatus under monitoring actuates an alarm processor to generate a representative alarm showing the existence of an alarm, and informs a monitor through a representative alarm informing interface when an alarm occurs in each apparatus. The monitor actuates a representative detector to identify which apparatus under monitoring generated the alarm from a received representative alarm and controls a polling controller to poll only the apparatus which generated the alarm, thereby acquiring alarm information.
