PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal that can properly control a recording output mode in response to a characteristic of received facsimile image information so as to print out the received image with high quality. SOLUTION: In the case that a recording circuit 16 records received image information, a CPU 22 decides whether or not double side recording is to be executed depending on the characteristic of the received information such as a black rate of the image information. When the black rate of the received image to be printed out is low especially, the double side recording is executed. Whether or not the double side recording is to be executed depends on whether or not the image is received by a double side protocol or on a registration state of a registration means when the facsimile terminal is provided with the registration means to designate a forced double side recording, and whether or not the double side recording is to be executed is decided depending on the characteristic of the image information when the double side recording is required depending on the conditions above.
