A fan draws extract air (4) out of the pool hall and passes it over two heat exchangers (23, 24) serving as evaporators. Part of the air can be drawn off (13) between the two exchangers to be recycled. A second fan draws in atmospheric air (6) and delivers it (7) to the pool over a heat exchanger (21) serving as condenser of a heat pump. The proportion of air recycled (13) and the quantity of fresh air drawn in are regulated by linked dampers (14, 15) controlled from an enthalpy detector (18) in the fresh air inlet. A changeover valve (25) can connect either of the evaporators (23, 24) to complete the heat pump circuit (22). This valve is also controlled from the detector in the fresh air inlet.
