The head comprises a body (1) in which there is made a duct (2) connecting an orifice (3) for connecting to the associated pipe, and a coupling orifice (4) arranged substantially in a coupling plane. This body carries two radial sectors (5, 6) with respect to the coupling orifice and one (5) directed outwards and on the same side as the body with respect to the coupling plane and the other (6) returning inwards and on the opposite side with respect to this plane. These sectors each present a guiding surface (8, 9) of generally circular arc-shaped, and of these surfaces one has a projection (10) and the other has a cavity (11), which are complementary. The projection or the cavity has a dissymmetric profile in the direction of rotation of the head, with a moderate slope on the side for engagement and a steep slope on the other side. Rotational locking of two heads coupled to each other is thus obtained. One such coupling head may serve to provide the link between the compressed-air braking equipment of a towing vehicle and the braking installation of a towed vehicle. <IMAGE>
